The body can do remarkable things as human potential is nearly limitless. Having great physical health is one of the primary factors in retaining mental well-being and improving our lives as a whole. Today, I’ll be discussing a few practices that have improved my life and the lives of people around me. Some of these things include workouts/exercise, a healthy diet, and trying out of the box ideas that impact your body.
Exercise
Working out has been proven for generations to make you live longer, healthier, and have over all better performance. Part of the reason for this is that working out releases various chemicals and endorphins through sweating and body movement. I personally work out every morning. Here are some of my daily work out rituals:
Bench Press – 3 set of 10 reps
Curls – 3 sets of 10 curls each
Shoulder Press – 2 sets of 20 reps
Forearm curls – Rep until it hurts or you feel it
Push ups – 30 reps
Abs – 3 minutes. Every 10 seconds change to a diffrent exercise. Sit ups, planks, bicycle kicks, legs extended crunchies, V sits, alternating side planks
Jump rope – (Really good for respiratory system!) 10 minutes fast paced
Other activities that you may find usefull include bicyling and running as well as other intermural sports (basketball, baseball, frisbee-golf, etc.).
A Healthy Diet
I read once that everytime you eat or drink, you are either feeding disease or fighting it. Eating unhealthy foods has been proven to help cause depression, anxiety, bloatedness, and fatigue. I highly suggest going on the ketosis diet once or twice a year. In fact, going on a keto diet (High fats, Low carbs) has proven to eradicate symptoms of precancerous cells. It also cleans out your digestive system and gives you more energy. I am on a similar diet right now. It is called the Elimination Diet, and essentially, for 2 days you drink nothing but healthy liquids to detox. For the next two weeks, you eat nothing but organic chicken, brown rice, most vegtables, and fruit. Then, you slowy re-introduce things back into your diet to see how upir body reacts and how you feel. I’ll be honst: during the 2 day liquid fast, I wanted to die. Now, however, I feel better than ever because my sytem is cleaned out, and I am introducing mostly protein and healthy fats into my body.
Miscellaneous
There are also some things that are out of the ordinary but can make an enormous improvement to how your body feels and performs. For example, one thing you can try is cold showers. Cold showers, ice baths, or jumping in the ocean in the morning has been shown to shock your nervous and respiratory system awake and has a more effective result than coffee. it is very difficult at first, but once you get used to it, the results are noticeable. Doing this also improves your hair, skin, and and overall mental health.
There is much more I could say. I haven’t even touched on the power of sleep, vitamins and supplements, or drinking water. We only have one body during our lifetime. We have the choice to abuse and manipulate it to get done what we want to achieve. However, we will pay the price at some point because living that way is simply not sustainable over a long period of time. Instead, we can collaborate with our body to achieve its maximum performance over time. Yes, it takes discipline to exercise, eat healthy, and try other out of the box ideas, but it’s worth it. Our long-term success depends on it.
